Quebec Selection Evaluation
Federal Selection Evaluation
The Canadian Immigration Process is governed by the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Protection Act ("IRPA") [S.C. 2001, c. 27] and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (SOR/2002-227). Under the above legislation there are several classes of immigrants that can submit an application for permanent residence: Family Members, Economic Class and Refugees.
The Economic Class is also divided in several categories:
- Investors;
- Entrepreneurs;
- Skilled Workers; and
- Self Employed.
There are several selection criteria to which a potential immigrant must correspond in order to be selected by the Immigration Authorities (these selection criteria apply only to the Economic Class Immigrants). These criteria relate to:
- Education;
- Work Experience;
- Arranged Employment in Canada;
- Age;
- Language ability;
- Adaptability;
The Canadian Government has concluded with the Province of Quebec an agreement
under which the Quebec government has exclusive control over the selection
of independent applicants who intend to establish themselves in the Province
of Quebec. Such applicants file their applications with Quebec Immigration
Authorities. Quebec has established its own selection criteria and places a
greater emphasis on French speaking ability. Once Quebec has determined that
the applicant meets is provincial selection standards, the case is referred
to the Federal government for assessment of any other grounds of inadmissibility.
In
order to help you evaluate your credentials as per the requirement s of the
Federal and Quebec Selection criteria, we have developed two questionnaires.

this program.
